There are some things that you can only do at home. Things such as:

Getting some much needed rest!

Enjoying some of the beautiful flower (and fruit!) arrangements.

Being as cute as possible.

The last couple of days have been really wonderful. Even the simple task of not having to pack up to drive to the hospital is a great blessing. Julia's parents left on Monday, and Julia's sister is coming back tomorrow. We have had a couple of people from church helping Julia while I'm at work or meetings which has been a blessing.

As we, and especially Julia, work through all the has happened in the last couple of weeks, we are so thankful and blessed by the support of family and friends, and the prayers of countless people, many we don't even know. It is very humbling.

I would like to extend a big thank you, on behalf of myself and the family that stayed with me, to the many people that brought over so many meals. We had one basically every other night for almost 4 weeks!

We do ask for continued prayers as Julia does need help around the house and tires pretty quickly. However, she is making great progress and was even able to take a slow walk down the block and back tonight, which is amazing to see compared to what she was like even 2 weeks ago.

Matt & Julia

I just wanted to let you know that we are thankful for God's healing hand in your life, and His grace!! Also, I am thankful to God for your faith ... seeing you walk so closely with the Lord during this difficult journey has been a blessing to me ... as I am sure it has been to many others!! Walking with you in prayer and thanksgiving has also made my walk with God our Father stronger and closer ... Praise be the Lord!!

Great news. So glad to hear that everything is going so well. Home really is wonderful medicine. Julia, we have never even met you, but feel as though we have. Perhaps our paths will cross even yet.
Our prayers are now about a quick recovery and many happy times together as a family.

Hi Mattt and Julia,

We rejoice with you and thank the Lord with you. There is nothing like being home again.
The picture of contentment in sleep is priceless.

If Grandpa and Grandma Verbrugge need a place to rest on their way to Ottawa the Poelman B&B is a hop and skip off the 402 in Sarnia.

Our thoughts and prayers are with you.

Linda and Jim Poelman.

Dear Matt, Julia and Marika,

We are in a care group with Brian and Christa Toxepeus in Langley, B.C. They are family with some of your friends. Christa sent out a prayer email when this began and we have been praying diligently for your family. I look on your blog and smile with thanks to our God ! My sis-in-law had a very scary battle with toxic shock, she is great four years later... but your story has touched me. We continue to pray for strength and healing as you enjoy life back at home. You have a beautiful girl.. those sleeping on mom and dad moments are the best! Take care! Marie Grim
